Upland Bird Hunting
Excellent populations of Ruffed Grouse, beautiful Spruce Grouse, and Sharp-tailed Grouse are available on the same leases we use for waterfowl shoots. There are also hundreds of miles of logging roads, hunting trails, and clear cuts in the area for an afternoon or all-day hunts.
These are generally not the spooky birds you are used to back home. There is no need to get into thick brush if you don’t want to. It is a very relaxing hunt with plenty of close-range shots along the edge of fields or clearings, logging roads, and clear cuts.
Liberal possession limits and bountiful hunting for some of the most exciting and delicious upland game birds make for a great fall trip.
Cast and Blast Combos & Options
We can also combine morning and evening waterfowl shoots with midday grouse hunts and/or fishing to make an exciting and diversified experience.
September and October are renowned for trophy fishing on Eagle Lake for world-class muskies, big walleyes and northern pike, and exciting opportunities for big smallmouth bass and lake trout.
You won’t soon forget a day that begins with smoking barrels as Canadians and Greenheads come pouring into your spread, and then ends with you casting for giant muskies and walleyes during the prime trophy time of the season.
If fishing isn’t your bag, sandwich grouse hunting, predator calling, and helping guides scout for the upcoming deer hunts in between morning and evening waterfowl shoots. Either way, it’s an exciting and action-packed way to spend a beautiful fall hunting trip and we can be sure to keep you busy.
